Our Opportunity

The Head of Multinational, APAC is accountable for strategic leadership, performance, and delivery of Zurich’s Multinational Programs (outward, inward and international programs) across Asia Pacific. The role ensures the region delivers high-quality, compliant, and commercially effective multinational solutions while acting as a key contributor to Zurich’s global multinational network.

This role represents a shift from program execution to regional business ownership, encompassing strategy, governance, service excellence, and talent leadership. It also incorporates responsibility to support Captive Multi-National fronting development as part of the APAC Commercial Insurance growth strategy.

The Head of Multinational, APAC will report to the Head of Commercial Insurance and Chief Technical Officer, APAC and be based in Singapore.

Your Key Responsibilities

Regional Multinational Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the APAC Multinational strategy aligned to global objectives with a clear focus on operational excellence and profitable growth
• Translate global underwriting and multinational strategy into scalable regional operating models
• Represent APAC within Zurich’s global multinational leadership community shaping strategic priorities and market-facing initiatives

Multinational Program Governance & Delivery

• Own end-to-end oversight of multinational programs across APAC balancing service excellence with P&L discipline
• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all major lines of business
• Set service standards, KPIs, and escalation frameworks

Network, Compliance & Risk Management

• Oversee APAC engagement with the Zurich Multinational Network
• Ensure compliance with underwriting instructions and local regulatory requirements
• Act as escalation point for complex cross-border and network issues

Client & Broker Leadership

• Act as regional executive sponsor for priority multinational clients and brokers strengthening relationships that drive new business and retention
• Lead service reviews, governance forums, and complex renewals
• Represent Zurich APAC in global client and broker engagements positioning Zurich as a strategic partner of choice

Operational Excellence & Transformation

• Drive continuous improvement and operational simplification
• Sponsor digital and service transformation initiatives
• Use data to improve decision-making and service outcomes

Financial & Reinsurance Oversight

• Provide executive oversight of reinsurance and captive interactions
• Partner with Finance on premium flows, settlements, and cash collection
• Ensure financial accuracy, controls, and transparency

People Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead and develop multinational leadership and specialist teams across APAC
• Build succession pipelines and future-ready capability that support sustainable growth and franchise development
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus

What we are looking for

• 15+ years of extensive experience in multinational or international insurance programs
• Proven leadership of regional or multi-country operations
• Strong understanding of cross-border insurance and regulatory diversity
• Strategic, commercially minded leader with strong execution discipline
• Demonstrated business development experience, consistently delivering P&L growth across multinational programs and captives
• High level influencer with a strong externally oriented perspective.
• Strong communicator and people leader with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams across diverse environments
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Fluency in English
